4 Stars Hook yourself a modern shawl
I do have to say these are not old lady shawls, you will not drop into the background in these. Do not make and wear these shawls if don’t want attention!! The book is well priced and full of good looking shawls and wraps. They make good use of some really expensive yarns but I think a lot of these shawls would look good made in reasonable yarns as well. Over all if you are a crocheter looking for some thing new buy this book.
5 Stars Wonderful!
Really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to making alot of these beautiful patterns.
5 Stars gorgeous stylish shawls, wraps. scarves
I think Kristin came from Minnesota and settled for awhile in Israel where she learned to crochet so while I’ve never met her, we seem to have crossed paths. Judging from her other published patterns I was afraid this book might be difficult so I was happily surprised to find so many I will enjoy making. There seems to be a scarcity of crocheted shawl patterns that are attractive and this book really fills a need. The yarns are easy to find or substitute and the stitches not difficult but also fascinating as she is interested in geometric forms such as spirals, triangles, etc. She has good instructions for the hairpin lace scarf. Her triangle motif square shawl is beautiful and looks very easy for the beginner. I like her lacy cardi-wrap with sleeves. Another easy one is the medallion triangular shawl. All the instructions are written out and charted with helpful notes and a nice intro explaining the background to the design. One of her specialties is working spirals into her shawls. There are also wraps, a ruana and several scarves. Several pages in the back explain the stitches used with illustrations. There is also a glossary, index and list of yarn resources. Book is well produced with nice color photos, good print and while the binding is regular, the oversize paperback will lay flat. Highly recommended to all crocheters: don’t miss this one whatever your skill levels.

5 Stars LUSH!
Like one perfect decadent chocolate truffle in a little gold box, this book luscious, rich, heavenly and make you want to savor every little bit!
Rejuvenated Jewels, is a book you will be reaching for again and again, not only to drool over the creations but to get inspiration from them as well. In the into the author wrote “A friend asked me what did I want to share with my readers ? Did I want this book to teach people how to wire wrap? No. Did I want this book to teach people to use their creativity, to not be afraid to take chances and to believe in themselves? YES!” And that is what this book does.
The instructions are written clearly to help beginners enough to get through the projects but also keep the experienced jewelrymakers inspired as well. Because all of the projects use vintage pieces, you probably won’t be able to do an exact replica of any project. Fear not, Amy offers places to search for treasures as well as alternative material suggestions if you can’t find the exact item she uses in a project.
This is a gorgeous and inspiring book for jewelry makers who love vintage and using antique/vintage supplies.
5 Stars For beginners or experienced jewlery makers
We did a review of this great book on our site and included sample project pictures: http://www.chicaandjo.com/2009/02/20/rejuvenated-jewels/
5 Stars A visually inspiring treat!
This book is by far the most visually inspiring book I have ever owned. Not only is the instruction clear in regards to the pieces created, but the antiques used and pictures alone are so unique. It brings back so much nostalgia. I would recommend it to artists and non-artists alike. There is so much stored up in this treasure of a book!
